GINGER, SESAME OIL AND SOY COCKTAIL SAUCE

GINGER, SESAME OIL AND SOY COCKTAIL SAUCE (for four)

¾ cup bottled ketchup

1 tablespoon fresh gingerroot, peeled and minced

1 tablespoon light soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon prepared fresh horseradish

2 teaspoons Asian chili sauce

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons finely minced scallion

a teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish


1. Stir the ingredients together until well combined. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve. (Sauce can be made 1 day ahead and chilled, its surface covered directly with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.)
