STRAWBERRIES IN WHITE WINE (for four)

1 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
2 lemon zest strips
2 pints strawberries, hulled and quartered or sliced if large
1. In a large bowl, combine the wine, sugar and lemon zest. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the berries and toss well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, tossing the berries occasionally. Serve in shallow glass bowls or stemmed glasses.
