HOT DOGS (six)

 Sausages, hot dogs 2 (2)  Sausages, hot dogs 2 (1)

6 all-beef hot dogs (or an assortment of sausages – bratwurst, kielbasa, knockwurst, wieners, any kind you like)

6 hot dog buns

Condiments, including some or all of the following: grated cheese, chili, coleslaw, ketchup, mustard, chopped onions, pickle relish and sauerkraut

  1. Preheat grill (or a ridged grill pan) to medium heat.
  1. Fill a medium saucepan three-quarters full with water and bring it to a boil. Add the hot dogs, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the dogs are plump and heated through, about 6 minutes.
  1. Using tongs, transfer dogs to grill. Open buns and place interior-side down on griddle. Cook hot dogs and buns until lightly browned.
  1. Serve hot dogs in buns with condiments on the side.
