Apilco is a consortium of porcelain manufacturers located in the Limoges area of France that has provided cookware to culinary professionals since 1906. Its versatile products for both cooking and serving were developed with the participation of leading chefs, and their classically beautiful designs (some more than a century old), high glaze and milky white finish are popular worldwide.
And the products are as practical as they are timeless. Because porcelain is finished at higher temperatures than other ceramics, it is so nonporous that it can withstand extreme temperature changes. It adapts readily to the oven, refrigerator, microwave or, in some cases, even a broiler. Porcelain has the strongest body and lightest weight of any ceramic, its glazes are free of lead and cadmium, it doesn’t absorb food odors or flavors and it is easily cleaned. Williams Sonoma is the largest retailer of Apilco porcelain in the United States.
