LA CHAMBA BEAN POT
![]() | ![]() |
This traditional bean pot is handcrafted by families in the village of La Chamba, Colombia using local black clay that is stone smoothed by hand and fired on site. The pot is part of a versatile line of products for both cooking and serving made of natural materials that are unglazed and completely lead free. The clay in La Chamba cookware contains mica, which allows it to heat evenly, and it is porous enough to allow steam to evaporate slowly, further contributing to slow, even cooking. It can be used in the oven, over flame or in the microwave, and is handsome enough for use at table. La Chamba products are sold online by My Toque (cooking tools for the home chef) in Santa Cruz, California.
