WILTON ARMETALE LARGE (22.5 BY 9 INCH) “TROUT” SERVING PLATTER
The Wilton Company was founded in 1892 in Wrightsville, a borough of York County, Pennsylvania. After 118 years, four Wilton brothers, the 4th generation of the family to own the business, sold it to a Reading foundry owner.
Wilton Armetale is a proprietary alloy of more than 10 metals, primarily aluminum. The company advertised the brand as oven, stovetop and grill safe, but I use it mainly for serving. While to my knowledge they are no longer manufactured, the platters sometimes are available in “like new condition” on Amazon.
